A seu d'a Santa y Indibisible Trinidat de Bristón, u seu de Bristón (The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity en anglés), ye una seu bispal situata en a ziudat anglesa de Bristón, en a rechión d'o Surueste d'Anglaterra y condato de Bristón. A seu, que fue construyita en os sieglos XII-XIV, ye en estilo normando, un estilo romanico propio de territorios colonizatos por os normandos, de transizión entre o romanico y o gotico, encara que más amanato á o primer d'istos estilos.

Istoria d'a seu de Bristón

L'edifizio d'a seu fue construyito en 1140 con o nombre de St Augustine's Abbey u abadía de San Agustín, por Robert Fitzharding, un rico ombre local, que tamién fazió construyir o castiello de Berkeley ta esfender os azesos ta Bristón y l'estuario d'o río Severn. D'entre o sieglo XII se bi construyoron nuebos edifizios de piedra, toz en estilo normando (nomás bi ha autualment a casa abazial y a sala capitolar, á más d'una puerta d'estilo romanico que yera en as cambras de l'abat).

En 1216-1234, con o abad Dabid, se construyó a capiella de lady Elder (1220). En 1298-1332, con l'abat Edward Knowle se reconstruyó a parte oriental de l'abadía. L'abat John Newland (1481-1515) escomenzó a reconstruzión d'a nau, encara que ista reconstruzión restó incompleta en 1539, cuan os anglicans proclamaron a disoluzión d'as ordens monasticas, y a nau fue enderrocada.

Asinas, en 1542 l'antiga ilesia monastica esdebenió a seu d'una nueba diozesis, a diozesis de Bristón, que fue consagrata á la Santisma Trinidat.

En o sieglo XIX s'añadió una nueba nau, diseñata por o arquiteuto George Edmund Street. Ista nau yera armoniosa con o conchunto arquiteutonico meyebal, y a zeremonia d'inaugurazión d'a nau estió o 23 d'otubre de 1877, encara que a portalada ozidental con as suyas torres chemelas no se remató dica 1888.

I love cathedrals and tend to visit them in most cities I visit. Bristol Cathedral didn't disappoint. Love the architecture and history behind it. On a sunny day it looks fabulous ????.
